Adding A Redirect Page

Redirect pages are pages which have no content but instead send visitors to another location. This is useful for instances when a page might logically appear in multiple places on your site, or when creating drop-down links to individual programs.

Follow these steps to add a new redirect page.

From the Dashboard

  1. Click on "Pages" in the left navigation.
  2. On the bar of the section that you want to add the page to, click "Add Page".
  3. Enter the name of the page. This is what will appear in the navigation. Do not enter anything in the "Main content" field.
  4. Underneath the "Main content" text box will be a field called "Redirect url". Enter a full URL in this field, including the protocol (the "http://" portion)
  5. In "Publishing Controls" box on the upper right, choose "Published" from the drop down menu.
  6. Note: Anything in the Permalink field will not affect the Redirect URL.
  7. Save.

Returns to "Pages" view. A blue box at the top of the page indicates that the page was successfully created.

View your site. If you added the page to a section that is in the navigation, you will see the page in that navigation element's drop-down. If you added it to a section which is not in the navigation, go to that section by changing the URL or clicking "view" on one of that section's pages in the page management tool. You will then see your redirect page in that section's left-hand navigation.

When you click on the page in the navigation or navigate to the page by entering it's URL, you will be redirected to the URL you entered in the redirect URL field.
