Adding a Section

Follow these steps to add a new section to your site.

From the Dashboard

  1. Click on "Pages" in the left navigation.
  2. From the home section (the top bar), click "Add Section".home root
  3. In the "Basic Information" box type in a name (use sentence capitalization).
  4. Save. (The new section will automatically redirect you to create its first page.)
  5. Click back to "Pages". The new section is at the end of all the pages and sections in the website.
  6. To reorder the section click, drag, and drop the bar of the new section to the position you want it.

Section within a Section

It is possible to have a section within a section.

You might want to do this, for example, if there are a number of pages with research information that are relevant only for undergraduates. You could group those pages into a section "Research" within the section "Undergraduate".

A page in this section called “Documenting Sources” would have this URL:

departmentname.gmu.edu /undergraduate/research/documenting-sources

  2. On the section bar in which you want to create a section, click on "Add Section".
  3. In the "Basic Info" box type in a name (use sentence capitalization).
  4. Save. You will automatically be redirected to create a new page within the section you just created.
  5. To reorder the section click, drag, and drop the bar of the new section to the position you want it.
